Crayon Rolls

How do you entertain two busy little ones under the age of 4 in an instant?

Crayons of course!

I whipped up 2 of these darling crayon rolls for a recent drive to the lake.  I was able to score two great big white notepads at Target for $.99/each to go along with them.  It was such great entertainment in the car!

They were perfect to stash in my purse and carry along as we went on our adventures to local restaurants too.

What a perfect gift for birthdays, favors, big siblings, and more!

Oh, and I'm a bit obsessed with putting the crayons in ROYGBIV order.  Hillbilly says this makes me a little crazy or at least OCD.  I actually store most of my fabric this way too.  Hmmmm...

  2. I organize many things in ROYBGIV order, too. It is just a perfect way to organize items that don't have a letter or number attached to them. :) In fact, one of my former students was a lifeguard at the pool where my little guy took lessons this summer. She is now a senior in high school and was saying that one of the things she remembered about me was how I organized things in my classroom by the colors of the rainbow! Great minds think alike!!!! -Cousin Em

  3. Did you use a pattern or free hand the design? I think I could just freehand it but there are a few things I might have a question about...

  4. Here is a great tutorial from Skip To My Lou.

I made several for an upcoming craft show using elastic cording and a button for the closure.

    Happy sewing!
