A Bit of Frill

My cousin was visiting recently and wanted to know if I would help her make an apron.  She'd tried on this one, and was inpired.  She went on a fabric buying trip with her two favorite personal shoppers, my beautiful Aunties.  Their choices were so fun and funky!  We got straight to work in my mother's sweat shop.

Don't we look like we should be on Martha?

The apron was a great beginner project, with lots of straight lines and a few fun techniques like...

gathering and placing the ruffles...

and adding rick rack trim.

Here are my cousin and her fabulous personal shopper modeling their finished projects.  Don't they look darling?  Just like they are ready to whip up an unbelievable indian feast (which my family actually did the day this picture was taken).

I'm thinking that I might get a head start on this year's Christmas gifts, and tackle this as my first tutorial!

Happy Crafting!

  1. I would LOVE a tutorial! Maybe it will be my first project to tackle on my new sewing machine!
