Crafty with Karo

Fabric embellishment seems to be all the rage these days.  I love a crafty that uses items I already have in the pantry.

Check out this unique fabric dying technique using Karo Corn Syrup!

Lisa uses simple corn syrup to create beautiful effects on fabric.

Here's how it works.  Wash your fabric first.  Paint the Karo syrup onto the fabric and allow it to dry.  The corn syrup acts as a resist.  Once dry, paint over your design with fabric dye and allow it to dry.  You can then launder your fabric once again and admire your unique masterpiece!

Wouldn't this be such a fun project to try with the kiddos?  I could just see tote bags for the beach, swimsuit cover ups, or custom tees.  Such fun!
